The Azura Employee Foundation (AEF) is thrilled to announce the allocation of $10,500 in grants to the following four local nonprofits: Topeka LULAC Senior CenterValeo Behavioral Health CareScrapsKC and Sparkwheel.

Founded in 2018, AEF focuses on providing impactful donations to local organizations that operate within our field of membership. The foundation is 100% employee-led with funds raised through employee contributions. Funding decisions are determined by an eight-person committee with grants awarded twice a year, in spring and winter. Each year, AEF donates nearly $20,000 to our community; and since our inception, have donated over $103,500 to community organizations.

Topeka LULAC Senior Center

Topeka LULAC Senior Center plans to utilize the $3,000 grant to bolster their initiative of providing medical transportation to senior citizens, ensuring they can access necessary healthcare services. With an average of 125-130 medical rides per month, these funds will significantly contribute to sustaining and expanding this essential service for Topeka's elderly population.

Valeo Behavioral Health Care

Valeo Behavior Health Care intends to allocate the funds towards acquiring replacement windows and doors, enhancing the safety and comfort of their facilities for both staff and clients. This $2,500 investment will not only improve the physical infrastructure but also create a more conducive environment for mental health treatment and support services.

ScrapsKC

ScrapsKC plans to allocate the $3,000 grant to bolster the Teacher Resource Center (TRC) at ScrapsKC, which has been serving K-12 educators from various counties since its establishment in July 2023. The TRC offers a dedicated space for teachers to access free school supplies, ensuring they can support their students and classrooms without financial burden.

Sparkwheel

Sparkwheel intends to utilize the funds to provide essential support such as personal hygiene products, student snacks, school supplies, and other items deemed necessary by Student Support Coordinators across their supported Topeka schools. This $2,000 grant aims to ensure that students have access to the resources they need to thrive academically and personally within their educational environments.
