Skip-A-Pay Guidelines
To be eligible:
- Your loan must be current and in good standing to be eligible to skip a payment (i.e. not past due).
- Your loan must have at least seven (7) on-time payments made.
- You must have a positive balance on all of your Azura accounts, including your $5 minimum share balance.
Only one Skip-a-Pay is allowed per nine (9) months per loan. This offer is available on most closed-end, installment consumer loans.
- Skip-A-Pay is NOT available on the following loans: Business loans, mortgages, home equity, home equity lines of credit, credit cards and overdraft protection lines of credit.
If you have Credit Life and/or Disability, GAP insurance, or Warranties on any loan on which you are deferring any payments, your coverage may be adversely affected. See FAQs below.
How to Skip-A-Pay
- Sign into Online Banking. You will find "Skip-A-Pay" under Additional Services in online banking.

Skip-A-Pay FAQ
Azura Credit Union's program allows members to skip one monthly payment on their qualifying loans, so long as their accounts are in good standing. Skip-A-Pay can be used once every 9 months on eligible loans.
Interest continues to accrue during the extension month at the agreed-upon rate stated in the loan agreement. Skip-A-Pay will extend the loan period by one month and isn't available for business loans, mortgages, home equity, home equity lines of credit, credit cards and overdraft protection lines of credit.

Azura Credit Union's Skip-A-Pay program has been upgraded to give our members more flexibility choosing when they want to skip their loan payments, whether it's December or any other month. Please note that you can only skip on the same loan once every 9 months.
No, there is not a fee to defer.
To qualify, your account must be in good standing and all payments must be current. This includes having a positive balance on all your Azura accounts, including your $5.00 minimum share balance.
The skipped month will then be added to the end of your loan term, extending its length. Interest will continue to accrue on your loan during the skipped month.
To be eligible for Skip-A-Pay, loans must have been open a minimum of 9 months prior to the due date being skipped.

Business loans, mortgages, home equity, home equity lines of credit, credit cards and overdraft protection lines of credit have special regulations that prevent us from offering this service.
Yes. You must submit your request at least 3 business days prior to the loan payment due date of the month you wish to skip. (This is to ensure we have enough time to pause automatic payments.)
No, the payments you skip (principal + interest) goes to the end of your loan. So if your payoff date is October 2025, it will now be November 2025.
Skipping a payment results in an extension of your loan by one month. All other terms and conditions as stated in your original loan document remain the same.
No, a loan deferral will not affect your credit score, either good or bad.

- Account isn't in good standing
- Loan delinquency during previous months
- Not valid for business loans, mortgages, home equity, home equity lines of credit, credit cards and overdraft protection lines of credit
- Request received after the deadline for the month you wish to skip
- Loans under payment arrangements
- Loan has already been skipped within a 9 month window of your recent application
- Loan doesn't have 9 on time payments made
If you use bill pay or auto payments from another institution, you will need to make that adjustment. Azura will make adjustments to auto payments set up with us (i.e. scheduled payments, payroll splits, ACHs not set up through your Online Banking).
If you have GAP insurance, the coverage will not extend beyond the original maturity date of the loan nor will GAP cover the deficiency balance arising from skipped payments as disclosed in contract.
If you previously elected credit life and/or disability insurance, premiums will continue being added to the loan(s) during the extended term months in order for benefits to continue.
No, your co-borrower doesn't need to sign the Skip-A-Pay application located in Online Banking or Mobile Banking.
